Code of conduct
The Color Tools is a small, opinionated community. We hold each other to a high standard not because we're stiff — because the people here are the reason it's worth showing up.
Be kind
Argue about color, not people. Disagree with the work, not the worker. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't type it.
Bring craft
Show your work. Cite sources. When you ask a question, share what you've already tried. When you give feedback, be specific enough that it's useful.
No spam
No drive-by promotion of your tools, services, or jobs without context. The #showcase channel exists for sharing your work; the #jobs channel exists for hiring. Use them.
No LLM noise
If your message could have been written by anyone with a chatbot, don't post it. We're here for human craft and human judgment. Generated palettes are fine; generated commentary about them is not.
Respect IP
Don't post leaked brand work. Don't republish other designers' palettes as your own. Don't use the marketplace to sell things you don't have the rights to.
What we do about violations
Moderators reach out privately on first offense. Repeat offenses lead to channel bans, then full bans. Egregious behavior (harassment, doxing, hate symbols) is an immediate ban with no warning.

See something off? DM any moderator on Discord, or email trust@thecolortools.com. Reports are confidential. We don't share who reported what.
