How to make a color palette from an image
Use a photo, logo, product image, or mood board as a starting point for a palette. Choose how many colors to extract, then review the dominant swatches beside the image. You can sample an additional point directly from the image when an important accent is missing, and copy the resulting HEX values or CSS variables for your design file.
- Upload or drop an image with the subject and colors you want to explore.
- Choose a palette size from 3 to 12 colors and inspect the suggested swatches.
- Click a color on the image to sample another point, then copy HEX, copy CSS variables, or export a palette card.
Get more reliable colors from photos
A sampled pixel records how the image looks, including its lighting, shadows, compression, and display profile. For a cleaner starting palette, use a sharp image and sample flat areas away from reflections or deep shadows. Treat extracted values as visual references rather than approved brand or print specifications.
